The management team of Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ gathered to wave farewell to the Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) Arco Ardjuna (AA) at the Central Plant Platform of Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Offshore West North Java (ONWJ) off the northern coast of West Java, on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Arco Ardjuna, which operated for more than 50 years from 1972 to 2024, was the first oil storage facility in Indonesia, playing a crucial role in the country's oil and gas industry. It made a significant contribution by storing and distributing around 1.28 billion barrels of crude oil, with 4,350 oil liftings from the ONWJ block. The retirement of FSO AA in 2024 marks a milestone that needs to be documented and publicized. FSO Arco Ardjuna had been the oil storage facility for PHE ONWJ since 1972. Due to safety requirements and standards, FSO AA will be retired in August 2024 after more than five decades of operation. FSO AA was the first FSO in Indonesia and the oldest still in operation worldwide. It will be replaced by FSO Ardjuna Prima (AP). (Petromindo/Dasir)
