Chemical distribution firm PT Lautan Luas Tbk (IDX: LTLS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Pertamina Lubricants to explore collaboration opportunities in the fields of specialty chemicals and lubricants. The MoU marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the two companies to develop and supply products such as industrial lubricants, food-grade lubricants for hydraulic and gear applications, and metalworking fluids.

The scope of the collaboration also includes the joint development of high-value-added products, such as LBO raw materials for white oil and anti-foam additives, which could be marketed by Lautan Luas. The partnership aims to contribute to national industrial independence by reducing imports, improving supply chain efficiency, and enhancing domestic product development.
Joshua C. Asali, Managing Director of Lautan Luas, emphasized the potential for synergy, noting the collaboration would help improve the domestic industry’s competitiveness. Pertamina Lubricants' CEO, Werry Prayogi, expressed confidence that the partnership would enhance the company's product portfolio and strengthen Indonesia’s position in both domestic and global supply chains.
