While specific timelines were not disclosed, the project is part of ADRO’s broader strategy to pivot towards renewable energy and support Indonesia’s energy transition agenda. The company noted previously that the Lampunut facility, to be developed by subsidiary PT Adaro Power, has the potential to be expanded to 6 MW in the future.
The hydropower project underscores Adaro’s ongoing efforts to diversify beyond its core coal business amid growing international and domestic pressure to reduce carbon emissions.
