Acting Governor of Aceh Nova Iriansyah said the Aceh provincial government welcomes the plan of Condrad Petroleum to conduct joint studies in two areas, namely in west and south of Aceh.
"We welcome this oil and gas investment. The two oil and gas blocks are located in Singkil, Aceh Singkil and in Meulaboh, west Aceh," said Nova Iriansyah in Banda Aceh on Thursday (08/08), as reported by state news agency Antara..
Condrad Petrolum is a Singapore-based exploration and production oil and gas company, with operational head office located in Jakarta.
Nova Iriansyah said the development of two oil and gas blocks should be able to improve the welfare of the Aceh people as well as create job opportunities for local people.
Meanwhile, Radian Suhri Hartama, an executive of Condrad Petroleum, said that the company has obtained permits from the Directorate General for Oil and Gas at the Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) to conduct joint study in the two blocks.
The joint study will cover technical analysis and evaluation on the geology, geophysics and reservoir condition of the two blocks.
The company tied up with Veteran National Development University in Yogyakarta and Trisakti University in Jakarta as well as Syah Kuala University in Banda Aceh.
The company, however, is yet to disclose when the joint study will be carried out.
