Cikarang Listrindo reports disruption in gas supply

Independent power producer PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk (IDX: POWR) has announced a temporary disruption in its natural gas supply, following incidents involving both of its primary gas suppliers, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) (IDX: PGAS).

In a filing with  the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Thursday, Cikarang Listrindo's Corporate Secretary, Rani Maheswari, explained that the disruption began on August 5, 2025, due to an unplanned shutdown at the Gathering Station in the Subang Field, operated by PEP. This incident has affected the gas supply to all PEP Western Java customers, including Cikarang Listrindo.

On August 10, 2025, the company received initial notification from PGN about a decline in gas pressure, followed by a formal notice on August 13, 2025, highlighting critical pressure issues in the South Sumatera–West Java (SSWJ) gas pipeline network. These issues have raised concerns about a further reduction in gas pressure, potentially affecting the company’s power plant operations.

Despite these challenges, Cikarang Listrindo has implemented alternative measures, including the use of alternative fuels, to maintain the continuous supply of electricity to its industrial customers. As of the announcement, there has been no material impact on the company's operations.

The company is currently assessing the potential financial implications of the disruption and is working closely with PEP, PGN, regulators, and other stakeholders to manage the situation effectively.

Rani Maheswari reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining the reliability of its electricity supply and ensuring uninterrupted service to its customers. "We are closely monitoring the situation and are coordinating with all relevant parties to ensure operational reliability," Rani said.
