Canadian firm Talisman Energy is still unable to complete its seismic survey on a total area of 500 sq km in Sakakemang PSC in South Sumatra due to social problems, according to an official of upstream authority SKK Migas.

"The seismic activity started in February and has yet to be completed. Since the reason is social problems, it is difficult to predict when it will completed,? SKK Migas' Chief Representative for southern Sumatra Tirat Sambu Ichtijar told Petromindo.com.

He said, Talisman is currently trying to approach land owners who are still opposed to such activities.

Sixty percent of the work is 3D survey carried out in forestry area, for which the firm has received a forest utilization license (IPPKH) in May of this year, Tirat said earlier.

According to Petromindo.com data, the exploration block, which is located Corridor and Jambi Merang PSCs onshore South Sumatra, was awarded in 2010 to a local company PT Cakra Nusa Darma. Talisman obtained 90 percent of the interest last year.
