Malaysian-Austrian oil and gas joint venture company Sapura OMV Sdn Bhd. is seeking to enter the Indonesian oil and gas sector as it plans to acquire a producing oil and gas block in the country.
"'We are looking to enter the Indonesian oil and gas upstream sector. We have been talking with SKK Migas (upstream oil and gas authority) and Pertamina (state-owned oil and gas firm)," said Matthew Choo, an official at the Exploration and Appraisal Department of Sapura OMV to Petromindo.com recently.

Choo said that the company prefers to acquire a producing block. "We prefer to enter into one the blocks that is already in production," Choo further said.
Sapura OMV shareholders are OMV AG and Sapura Energy Berhad with 50% each of ownership.
