State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said that oil production at the Sangatta Field in East Kalimantan has increased to 3,545 BOPD, the highest since 1987.
General Manager of Pertamina’s Zone 9 Operations, Andre Wijanarko said that the additional production contribution came from the ST-217 development well and the ST-194 workover well, each contributing 269 BOPD and 206 BOPD, respectively.

He attributed this achievement to the implementation of an aggressive development strategy over the past two years.
"We have successfully put 20 drilling wells into production, and 15 workover wells have been completed at Sangatta Field," said Andre on Wednesday.
According to a previous Petromindo.com report, oil production at the Sangatta Field last year stood at 1,719 BOPD.
