PLN SC, ABB extend collaboration to strengthen Indonesia's power plant reliability

PT PLN Suku Cadang (PLN SC) a unit of PT PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) and ABB have signed an extension to their strategic collaboration, aimed at enhancing the reliability and modernization of Indonesia's power plants. The agreement was finalized during the Modernizing Indonesia’s Energy Sector for Sustainable Growth panel, organized by Financial Times in collaboration with ABB.

The collaboration focuses on automation and electrical components, technical services, and support throughout the power plant lifecycle. These efforts are intended to improve operational reliability, efficiency, and sustainability in the energy sector, with a specific focus on providing high-quality spare parts, maintenance services, and modern technology for power plants across Indonesia.

Thommi Haposan, CEO of PT Prima Layanan Niaga Suku Cadang, emphasized the importance of reliable spare parts and technical support in ensuring optimal plant operations, reducing downtime, and maintaining long-term reliability. “This collaboration strengthens our ability to offer reliable solutions across Indonesia’s energy sector,” Haposan said.

Anders Maltesen, President of ABB’s Energy Industries Division in Asia, highlighted that ABB’s technology has played a key role in supporting power plant availability and reliability in Indonesia. He reiterated the company’s commitment to ongoing collaboration with PLN SC, integrating automation and digital solutions to improve performance and energy efficiency.

This extended partnership aligns with Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to modernize its energy infrastructure and ensure a sustainable energy future. PLN SC continues to work with government agencies, industry leaders, and technology partners like ABB to meet the country’s energy transition and Net Zero Emission 2060 goals, ABB said.
