State electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) announced on Wednesday changes to its Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors following its Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPS LB) held on June 18, 2025.

Among the changes, Susiwijono Moegiarso has been removed from his position as Commissioner, and Bambang Eko Suhariyanto has been appointed as the new Commissioner. Bambang Eko Suhariyanto is currently Vice-Minister of Secretary of State.

The changes also include the replacement of several members of the Board of Directors. Edi Srimulyanti, Director of Retail and Commerce, and Wiluyo Kusdwiharto, Director of Project Management and Renewable Energy, have stepped down from their positions. In their place, Edwin Nugraha Putra has been appointed as Director of Transmission and System Planning, Rizal Calvary Marimbo as Director of Power Generation Management, and Arsyadany Ghana Akmalaputri as Director of Distribution.  Prior to their appointments, Edwin Nugraha Putra is President Director of PT Indonesia Power, Rizal Calvary Marimbo is Expert Staff to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and Arsyadany Ghana Akmalaputri General Executive Vice President of PLN.

In addition to the leadership reshuffle, PLN reported financial results for 2024. The company achieved a record revenue of IDR 545.4 trillion (US$ Rp. 16,300), an 11.9% increase from the previous year, with a net profit of IDR 17.76 trillion. This growth was largely driven by a 6.17% rise in electricity sales, which reached 306.22 terawatt hours (TWh), surpassing the government’s target of 299.99 TWh.

Darmawan Prasodjo, CEO of PLN, attributed the positive performance to the strong backing from the government, which has allowed PLN to remain resilient in the face of economic challenges and global geopolitical uncertainties. “This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the government, which has been instrumental in enabling PLN to grow and maintain stability,” said Darmawan.

The company’s transformation efforts, including business digitalization and operational efficiency, have helped PLN remain competitive and financially stable. PLN also grew its customer base by 5.88%, adding 3.72 million new customers. The expansion of electricity access, particularly in underserved areas, contributed to an increase in household electricity consumption by 6.62%.
