IDX-listed geothermal power developer PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (IDX: PGEO) has secured a one-year extension for exploration activities at the Seulawah Agam geothermal working area, located in Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province.
"The exploration permit was supposed to expire in early April. PGEO has already received a one-year extension," a government official told Petromindo.com on Tuesday.

PGEO President Director Julfi Hadi stated on Monday that Seulawah Agam is one of the National Strategic Projects, with an initial planned development capacity of 55 MW.
PGEO is aiming to begin drilling exploration wells in August 2025.
The Seulawah geothermal power plant project is being developed under a public-private partnership scheme. PGEO is collaborating with Aceh’s regional government-owned company PT Pembangunan Aceh (PEMA), with PEMA holding a 25 percent stake and PGEO holding the remaining 75 percent.
