PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) as a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) continues its commitment to improve the quality and service for Indonesia’s Energy needs. In realizing this commitment, PT Pertamina International Shipping has just held a coordination meeting on March 25, 2021 which aims to harmonize the steps of all elements in PT Pertamina International Shipping, in order to move forward in harmony to achieve goals and maintain a sustainable company business.
Through the Coordination Meeting of Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) Directorate of Operations, the company invites all its officers to always be enthusiastic and confident in responding to the challenges of uncertain changing of the Shipping and Marine Business in the future.
One of the leading programs of the directorate for operations is the implementation of the Integrated Tonnage Management program, which is a program to integrate all operated vessels in serving domestic and international transportation needs, both the Captive and Non-Captive Market.
"This program is expected to support the increase in the company’s revenues and profits, and also as an effort to support the government programs in increasing the TKDN level. I am firmly confident and believe that all Pertamina Officers, especially the Millennial Officers in the Directorate for Operations, will be ready and able to encounter these challenges. We are advancing together with a full strength towards the future of PIS, Shipping The Energy Worldwide, Energizing The Nation with Pride, PT PIS Delivery Promises," said Arief Kurnia Risdianto, Director for Operations of Pertamina International Shipping.
In addition to improving reliable operations with 4 Main Pillars as the operational foundation, namely Comply to International Standards, Marine Safety & Security, high level Performance Standards, Efficient Operations and Digitalization, PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) also continues its commitment to support Indonesia's economic growth, one of which is by increasing the value of domestic component level (TKDN).
This commitment is in line with the vision of Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), namely as a leading shipping company in Asia, encouraging economic growth in Indonesia which is also embodied in its mission as an agent for Indonesia's economic development. The aim of increasing the use of domestic products within Pertamina Group is to empower domestic industries.
In 2020, the TKDN value of PT Pertamina International Shipping reached 40.42%. This value consists of 20 ships that have been built in 4 domestic shipyards, meaning that this has exceeded the minimum requirement that must be met, namely 30 percent.
"We want to continue to strive to increase the use of goods and services from Indonesia by empowering domestic products and reducing the use of imported products, such as using the Indonesian-flagged vessels, which are owned by Indonesian national shipping companies, and manned by Indonesians, to sail both domestic and international routes, sailing with the nation’s pride flag. Of course, we want to consistently increase the value of TKDN. The hope is that Indonesia's economy will improve,” said Arief Kurnia Risdianto, Director for Operations of Pertamina International Shipping.
