LEN to produce solar cells with capacity of 60 MW

State owned electronics company PT Lembaga Elektronika Nasional (LEN) will produce solar cells with total capacity of about 60 megawatt at its solar cell production plant now under construction in Bandung, Kontan reported on Friday.

 

The company?s president director Abraham Mose said that the company would invest up to Rp 462 billion for the new solar cell production unit.

 

At present, LEN already has capacity to produce solar cells with total capacity of 10 MW. With the operation of the new production unit, the total capacity the company can produce would become 70 MW. Abraham said that going forward the government has expected it to achieve a production capacity of 172 MW.

 

At present, LEN?s solar cells with capacity of 1 MW have been installed in Bangli, Bali and another 1 MW in Karangasem, Bali. (*)
