ENI plans Indonesia drilling campaign

ENI East Ganal Ltd., a unit of Italian energy giant Eni SPA is set to drill three offshore exploration wells starting the second half of 2025, according to Rikky Rahmat Firdaus, Deputy for Exploration, Development, and Management of Working Areas at SKK Migas, on Monday, July 21, 2025. The three wells, named Kadal, Konta, and Geliga.

These drilling activities are part of a broader exploration push by ENI to assess the potential of its offshore holdings in Indonesia, Rikky said. The wells will be drilled in the East Ganal Block, located in the waters off East Kalimantan.

Looking ahead to 2026, other major offshore drilling projects are also planned. Petronas, operating in the Bobara Block in West Papua, will be drilling the Akbar well, while Pertamina will drill a deepwater exploration well in the East Natuna Block, he said.
