The world's leading lithium-ion battery cathode precursor maker, CNGR Advanced Material Co Ltd (CNGR) is set to initiate the commissioning process for two lines of its OESBF (oxygen-enriched side-blown furnace) smelter next month.
The smelter is located at the PT Stardust Estate Investment (SEI) industrial park in Morowali Utara Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province.
"We have taken over eight nickel matte production lines from Jiangsu Delong smelter in SEI industrial park … (which are) currently in the construction process, we plan to commence the commissioning of two lines next month, continuing with two lines every month next year. The total (annual) capacity of these eight lines is 80,000 tons of nickel matte," said Dani Widjaja, Vice President of CNGR to Petromindo.com on Thursday (28/12) during an interview in Jakarta.

Dani did not provide detailed information on when the company acquired a 60% stake in PT Nadesico Nickel Industry, owned by Jiangsu Delong Nickel Industry Co Ltd, and the associated acquisition value. He mentioned that the additional ownership of this smelter would increase CNGR's nickel matte capacity in Indonesia. The nickel matte will then be further processed into cathode precursors in China.
