Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia officially installed Djoko Siswanto as the new Head of SKK Migas, the upstream oil and gas authority, late on Thursday. He replaces Dwi Soetjipto, who had previously held the position.
Djoko, who is currently serving as the Secretary General of the National Energy Council (DEN), brings a wealth of experience in the upstream oil and gas sector. His previous roles include serving at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, where he held positions such as Secretary of the Directorate and Acting Director General.
Djoko completed his diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic at Universitas Indonesia. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from the prestigious Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 1990. He later pursued an MBA at the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, UK (2000–2001), and a specialized MBA in Oil & Gas Management from the Centre of Energy Petroleum Mineral Law & Policy (CEPMLP) at Dundee University, UK, where he became the first Indonesian to receive the MBA in Oil & Gas Management (2001–2002). Djoko also earned his Doctorate in Petroleum Engineering from ITB (2006–2011).
Djoko began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1990 as a Petroleum Engineer at PT Sarana Putra Makmur. He then joined the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 1992 at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas.
