Bahlil appoints Huwae as new DG of Law Enforcement

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has officially appointed Rilke Jeffri Huwae as the new Director General of the Directorate General of Law Enforcement (Gakkum). The appointment ceremony took place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Rilke Jeffri Huwae, who previously served as a Senior Expert in Investment Sector Development at the Ministry of Investment and the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), brings with him a wealth of experience in law and legal enforcement. He has had a distinguished career as a prosecutor, having held several strategic positions, including as the Head of the District Attorney’s Office in Fakfak, Bangka, and Ternate, and Assistant for Civil and State Administration at the High Prosecutor’s Office of North Maluku.

A graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Pattimura Ambon (1993), Huwae continued his studies at the IBLAM School of Law (2004) and is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Jayabaya.

Aside from Huwae, Bahlil also appointed Ma’mun (one name) as Director of Criminal Enforcement under Huwae. Ma’mun is a police officer whose last posting was in Police Criminal Investigation HQ (Bareskrim)

Minister Bahlil emphasized that the new Directorate General of Gakkum, established under Presidential Regulation No. 169/2024, aims to enhance law enforcement in Indonesia’s energy and mineral resources sector, focusing on preventing violations, monitoring compliance, and applying sanctions where necessary.
