Artha Tunggal aims for stable coal production in 2025

PT Artha Tunggal Mandiri, a coal mining company based in Berau, East Kalimantan, and a subsidiary of PT Ithaca Resources, is targeting production levels consistent with those of 2024. In 2024, Artha Tunggal produced 2.75 million tons of coal, a slight decrease from the previous year’s output of 3 million tons in 2023.

Eko Sri Murtanto, Chief Mining Engineer at Artha Tunggal Mandiri, explained that the company will not revise its Annual Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) and is aiming for stable production levels due to the current volatility in coal prices. "The price situation remains uncertain," Eko told Petromindo.com on Friday, January 31.

Eko also noted that coal production this year will primarily be allocated for export to India, maintaining the same arrangement as the previous year due to long-term contractual commitments.

Most of Artha Tunggal’s coal production is exported to India, with approximately 35% reserved for domestic needs, particularly for state-owned utility PT PLN. The company holds a 2,800-hectare concession area in the Berau region and produces coal with a calorific value of 3,600 kcal/kg.
