IDX-listed mining company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (IDX: ANTM), commonly known as Antam, is in the process of revising its Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) to increase its production quotas for nickel and bauxite ore. The company aims to raise its annual nickel ore output to 21 million wet metric tons (wmt) and bauxite ore output to 5 million wmt this year.
Currently, Antam's approved RKAB permits the company to produce 16.9 million wmt of nickel ore and 3.5 million wmt of bauxite ore annually.
“We are in the process of submitting a request to increase the nickel quota to 21 million wmt. Similarly, for bauxite, we're aiming for 5 million wmt. However, we are still waiting for approval,” said Arianto Sabtonugroho Rudjito, Antam’s Director of Finance and Risk Management, during a press conference on Friday (May 9).

Antam’s President Director, Nicolas D. Kanter, noted that the company could reach its current production limits by the third quarter of 2025, making a revision necessary.
“If operations continue smoothly and at full capacity, we may reach the existing RKAB quota by Q3. But our targets are ambitious. We’re not just looking to meet the current RKAB — we’re pushing beyond it, which requires a revised plan,” he explained.
He expressed confidence that the government would approve additional ore quotas through the RKAB revision process.
Previously, Antam announced its intention to ramp up nickel ore production at its East Halmahera mine in North Maluku to 13 million wmt by 2027. The increase will include both saprolite and limonite ores. Currently, the mine’s production capacity is 3 million wmt of saprolite.
