Adaro’s AMC plans flat coking coal output

Adaro MetCoal Companies (AMC), coking coal producer owned by IDX-listed PT Adaro Energy Tbk, plans to produce 1 million tons of coking coal this year. In 2019, coal production from AMC was 1.09 million tons. AMC owns two producing concessions, namely Maruwai and Lahai.

“The coal production target of AMC in 2020 is 1 million tons. As of first quarter of 2020, AMC produced 0.3 million tons and sold 0.31 million tons of coal from Lahai and Maruwai concessions,” Febriati Nadira, Head of Corporate Communication Division at Adaro Energy, said to petromindo.com on Tuesday.

Adaro keeps developing the Maruwai concession and prepares it to reach production capacity of 3 million tons per year. Maruwai produces premium quality hard coking coal with medium volatility and very low ash and phosphor contents.

Adaro Energy sells coking coal from AMC to buyers in Japan, Indonesia, India, China and Europe.
