UPC Renewables is a leading renewable energy developer. UPC-formed companies have developed more than 5,000 MW of now-operating wind and solar projects globally. In the Asia Pacific region, UPC has a 593MW portfolio of jointly owned operating and in-construction assets in Indonesia, India, and Vietnam and a +10GW development portfolio in Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia, India, Taiwan, and Korea. In Indonesia, UPC has been developing renewable projects since 2011. UPC had successfully built and operated the first utility-scale wind power project in Indonesia, i.e., the 75 MW Sidrap Wind Farm Project, in Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) Regency, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in July 2018. Other than Sidrap, UPC has also been developing other projects including wind, solar, and biomass power plant projects.

As part of the Biomass project, UPC group currently is also developing a Biomass and Agro Forestry Business in East Indonesia, with a plantation of around 70,000 Ha of contiguous concessions, with approximately 43,000 Ha of nucleus plantation (biomass-focused) and 14,000Ha of plasma/community plantation, with approximately 7,000Ha of conservation area, and the remaining has are made up of infrastructure. Products to commercialize will include chips for use in biomass power plants, cajaput oil, nutmeg products (nutmeg, mace, nutmeg oil), coconut products (various), honey & other bee products (honey, pollen, beeswax, propolis, etc.). Other likely products to commercialize will include carbon credits & biochar. UPC is currently looking for a candidate to join our Indonesia team, with the following descriptions:

Location: Jakarta

Responsibilities

Currently, we seek a motivated professional with a degree in environmental management or one of the associated sciences and 3-5 years of experience in the environment. The candidate must have at least 2 years as an environmental engineer in a similar industry (energy/power plant).

The role of Environmental Officer is a key member of our central HSE/Community Relations team, coordinating environmental studies for our development projects and assisting with environmental compliance of our operating projects.

The successful applicant will need to be well organized, with excellent communication skills. A reasonable proficiency in English is necessary and some experience in working with international personnel would be an advantage.

The position is based in our Jakarta office but will involve extensive travel throughout Indonesia. Some familiarity with OHS systems in Indonesia would also be considered favorably.
