Why you must attend the conference
Despite its economy contracted in the 2015, Indonesia sees better economic outlook in the 2016 as many critical issues in the infrastructure are being fixed. Its economic growth is predicted could maintain the rate above or equal to 5 percent rate this year. This means the country will need even more electricity to fuel the economy. As many private-power-generation companies have been enjoying the lucrative business during the last 14 years of privatization of power sector, the government shows even larger indication to invite more investment in the power sector.
In the time, Indonesian government which set target for economic growth of 5.5 percent in 2016 has started launching series of economic policy packages, including on energy sector aimed at luring new investors to help meet the targeted economic growth. The government has also launched the 35,000 megawatt of electricity projects until 2019 as effort to end the shortage of power in the country. In addition, the government continued improving the licensing procedures to ease investors entering the electricity sector.
Indonesia's largest news portal on oil and gas, power and mining, Petromindo.com jointly with CoalAsia magazine and Petromindo Magazine would organize Petromindo Forum to discuss the outlook of the power sector in 2016 with the main theme of "are brighter days ahead?"
